Abstract:
Papers of Cyril M. Jansky, a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin. Correspondence, articles, speeches, lectures, and essays reflect Jansky's interest in public affairs and public utilities as well as his work in radio telegraphy. Correspondence with Gisbert Bossard concerns development of automatic signals for railroad crossings. Essays on the history of electricity were intended for publication as a book. Included also are manuscripts written by his sons, Karl, Nelson, and C. Moreau; materials on public utilities by J. A. Whitlow of the Oklahoma Public Service Company; and a volume of Jansky's personal accounts.
