Abstract:
Nearly 8,000 folders of genealogical charts compiled for residents of Wausau, Wisconsin, and collected by the association in interviews during the city's centennial celebration in 1939. Information includes name, address, birth date and place, marriage date, military service, occupation, memberships, church affiliation, education level, and death date and burial place; and similar information for spouse, children, siblings, and spouse's siblings, and for ancestors. Also provided is date ancestors came to Marathon County and why they came, where they first lived, and their occupation; and sometimes an indication of heirlooms or museum pieces in the family's possession.
