Cases include violations of city ordinances, petty larceny, and assault and battery. Volume 1 has newspaper clippings pasted over the first few pages; volume 3 has Justice Ames' reaction to the outbreak of the Civil War written on the back cover; volume 30 consists of ordinance violation cases heard by Justice John Slater, 1900-1901 and Slater's record as a County Court Commissioner, 1902-1919.
