(56 volumes), 64 reels of microfilm (35mm), and 122 sheets of microfiche Call Number: Oconto Series 1 Abstract: Volumes indicating land ownership and a description of taxable real estate, valuation of each parcel, amount of taxes due, and a record of the payment of taxes. Also includes valuations, taxes due, and taxes paid for personal property in many of the volumes. Only every tenth year has been preserved for the years 1870-1900 and every fifth year after 1900, with the exception that the 1977 rolls were acquired instead of 1975. Beginning in 1985, Oconto County produced the tax rolls in microfiche format only. |

(3 archives boxes) and 245 photographs Call Number: Oconto Series 31; PH Oconto Series 31 Abstract: Data sheets created by the Oconto County War History Commission to collect personal history and unofficial military service information for Oconto County men and women serving in World War II. Although the amount of information provided on each data sheet varies, the following data is generally completed: branch of service, dates of service, places served, date and place discharged, wounds or illnesses, information about death or capture, and awards received. Additional information may include nationality, marital status, Oconto county schools attended, occupation and last employer, drafted or enlisted, rank on entry, reception center, and training camps or schools. Some data sheets have newspaper clippings attached. Records for some individuals include a photograph (photocopy) usually in military uniform. Photocopies of the photographs are filed with the data sheets. Original photographs are housed at the Wisconsin State Historical Society. |

Among the topics covered by the papers are African-Americans in the ultra-left, child care at league meetings, women, the labor movement, the league’s activities in the southern U.S. (particularly relating to the civil rights movement), documentation on the three congresses of the October League, and information related to other Marxist Leninist organizations. |
