Abstract:
Records of a committee appointed by Governor Patrick J. Lucey in 1973 to examine election campaign finance practices and make recommendations for improvement. A final report was issued in March, 1974. Included are correspondence of David Adamany, committee chair; draft and final reports; press releases and newspaper clippings; worksheets and sample data collection forms; and a questionnaire used by the University of Wisconsin Survey Research laboratory to gather information on public donations to political campaigns. Extensive reports on campaign contributions to the 1970 and 1972 elections were weeded, as this information is available as part of Series 209 Election Financial Statements. However, information on county committee reports, portions of which were missing from the Secretary of State's files, have been retained.
