Records, 1887-1990 (bulk 1919-1974), of the Wisconsin Child Center (WCC), including a variety of correspondence, subject files, reports and historical information. There are also records, 1934-1937, from the Tomah Indian Industrial School; the bulk of the records are social worker correspondence and may contain information on specific students at the Tomah School. Records from the school are found in this series because during this time period, the WCC retained guardianship of students at the Tomah Indian Industrial School. Also of note is material about the closing of the WCC and transfer of remaining children. Photographs of the WCC cemetery are also included.
There is a restriction on access to this material; see the Administrative/Restriction Information portion of this finding aid for details.
