The collection consists of source material created and compiled
by Will Fellows while researching his book, Farm Boys: Lives of Gay
Men from the Rural Midwest. The oral histories consist of interview recordings,
transcripts, as well as correspondence with, photographs of, and biographical information
about interviewees. Interviewees describe their upbringing, family relationships, and sexual
experiences in matter-of-fact and explicit terms. The collection also contains research
materials used for writing the book, the interview protocol, early drafts of the manuscript,
and publicity and promotional materials.
