Florence E. May contributed to continuing education of nurses in Wisconsin, rising from
assistant professor and associate chair of the Department of Nursing in 1970 to associate
professor of Nursing (1980-1983) at the University of Wisconsin-Extension. She was
extensively involved in area committees and arranging the program schedule and planning and
conducting live television programs for registered nurses.
