Scope and Content Note: Files pertaining to the promulgation of administrative rules by the department and the examining boards that it oversees. Enclosed are staff memoranda, constituent correspondence, recordings and transcripts of public hearings and testimony, and draft rules. Only a few boards are represented, primarily the Chiropractic Examining Board, the Medical Examining Board, the Psychology Examining Board, and the Real Estate Examining Board. Among the well documented topics are abortion, the authority of physicians assistants to prescribe drugs, licensing of school psychologists, “trustworthiness” among realtors with criminal records, and public access to records. Taped hearings are available only for meetings which are not transcribed.
