: Subject files, 1963-1980, of the Division of Community Services, including monthly reports submitted to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Social Services; records on training, legislation, and the reorganization of the Division of Mental Health; studies of various health centers and health programs in Wisconsin; budgetary files; and federal grant correspondence. Also included are records of the Performance Audit Section, which was created to monitor community boards that were established under Sections 51.42 and 51.437 of the Wisconsin Statutes to provide assistance for the mentally and developmentally disabled. Records include general correspondence and audit materials of various boards, including audit reports, working papers, and background materials. This accession also includes records on children's services, especially federal grant applications from various health centers for staffing and program funding; and records on nursing homes, including reports of onsite visits, and correspondence on the now defunct Lakeshore Manor in Madison, Wisconsin.
