Robert H. Segal Papers, 1945-1971

Scope and Content Note

“They said in that store there 'you could walk in and walk out, and they wouldn't know if you were working or not because they had so many people coming and going....' We had a real good crew.” The manager was good to work for, and he would sometimes give an employee “an extra 10 to 15 minutes” because he knew the work was going to get done. There was also room for promotion. One of Toelle's stockers later became the branch manager. Toelle worked at this store for seven or eight years.
