Elo Grange No. 666 Records, 1925-1969

Scope and Content Note

The records of the Elo Grange, No. 666 are arranged into three series: Financial Records, Minutebooks, and Scrapbooks.

The Financial Records include a dues account book, in which are noted each member's name, dues, address, and date of initiation into or withdrawal from the Grange, 1925-1930. There are also four treasurers' account books that record receipts, expenditures, and annual financial reports, 1929-1944, and one secretary's financial report for the quarter ending September 30, 1948. The Financial Records are arranged chronologically.

The Minutebooks document general membership meetings, 1925-1940, 1954-1958. Among the topics discussed are the various Grange and community events held in Elo Hall and the income resulting from them, committee assignments, and the cooperative sale of binder twine. Their arrangement is chronological.

The Scrapbook, begun in 1961 as a project of the Home Economics Committee, is composed of clippings, photographs, and committee lists. It focuses on the Grange's community activities such as sewing contests, officer initiations, lectures, dances, and dinners, 1951-1969. Also included are histories of Elo and Utica, Town of Utica, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, written in 1964.
